TransLucidity

(45 mins.)

"The journey to where I am today was a difficult one; for years, I hid away from myself, refusing to accept who I am. This manifested in periods of depersonalisation and derealisation as I lived a reality that wasn’t my own. Life felt more like a dream than reality, and I struggled to connect with my sense of self. The more I try to reflect on this time in my life, the more unclear it seems."

About

Through a world of poetry and electronic music, Asher lets you into their disjointed teenage brain as they navigate their dissociation and come to terms with being transgender. He combines live and electronic performance to blur the boundary between physical and mental reality.

Asher hopes that this performance can help other trans people, who may be struggling with similar issues, to feel seen and understood.
